The Place Between Our Bodies, from 1975, is a pre-AIDS document of a person and time coming to terms with the ready temptations and gratifications of sex. Divided roughly in half, the filmmaker first addresses issues of the obsessive and alienating nature of desire, only to be surprised by the chance to encompass that obsession in a romantic relationship.
