SS Camp Womens Hell movie is one of the most bizarre WIP. The scene takes place in an SS camp and as the video french cover says : « it contains perverted voyeurism which could offense sensitive people ».
To touch on the holocaust is a delicate thing. It is pretty shocking to take this subject unseriously and yet, this is only a B-movie, a pure exploitation flick. If it somewhat denounces atrocities, the director chose to show gory stuff along with nazi camps, which not something of good taste. Director Sergio Garrone is a specialist of the genre. Between 1976 and 1983, he directed some jewels : SS Experiment Love Camp, Captive Women Hell: Hell Penitentiary, etc.
If the Schindler’s list manages to be up to its ambition, Womens hell has the same ambition but very few means and a moralistic message that is just plain dumb. Moreover, the film shows off telling that the story is inspired by actual facts that were going on in Poland. Why not…
The opening sequence shows the arrival of prisoners in the camp. Magda, the chief guard selects girls to make prostitutes for the german officers of the camp. Women react in different ways. Some of them like the job pretty quickly. And here it is. While some synthesizer music is played, we get to see some soft group sex party. But really, it doesn’t seem girls are prisoners and it doesn’t like world war 2 at all.
